Dan The Man Piano / Keyboards / Vocals Dan The Man has been performing in South Florida since March 1987, upon relocating from California. Originally from Detroit, he taught himself to play the piano, and began singing after being denied an audition at a San Francisco restaurant that wasn't looking for "background music." Dan has acquired an extensive 700+ song repertoire and a wide variety of styles by playing many different types of gigs. DTM has performed most often as a single act, and was a "one-man band" for years - long before the advent of sequences turned the art into little more than karaoke. Along the way, he has worked in duos, trios, and bands containing up to 15 pieces, playing everything from standards & Broadway show tunes to rock & roll, country/western, and disco, and everything in-between - for all types of audiences, young and old alike. Having grown up in the 50's & 60's, Dan is very familiar with the music of that era, and everything that followed. He also became acquainted with the great music of the 30's & 40's by working the South Florida yacht & country clubs. And the piano bar environment on the cruise ships gave him the opportunity to learn many of the popular sing-along favorites. Knowing so many popular songs just made DTM determined to write his own. The result is his soon-to-be-released CD of originals, entitled "2nd Time's The Charm" - a collection of 14 songs that draw upon many influences, past experiences and inner reflections.
